The acronym OS, in most cases, stands for “operating system.” In this case, it stands for “on-screen.” That’s what OS-Keyboard does – it puts a keyboard, a virtual one of course, on your desktop. Instead of using your physical keyboard to type some text, you can use this virtual keyboard instead.

Said virtual keyboard has quite a lot to offer. There are three keyboard layouts to choose from and you can easily switch from one layout to another. You can customize the way the keyboard looks by changing the font type and size, by playing with some border settings, by setting the header height, and by changing the transparency of various keyboard elements. The AutoComplete function and the Templates feature will help you type faster while the Gestures feature will help you perform tasks just by doing a gesture.

To get started with OS-Keyboard you must complete a simple installation procedure. Just download an installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up. A few clicks later you’ll be done; OS-Keyboard will be installed on your PC and you’ll be able to start using it.

While OS-Keyboard is running, you will notice its icon in the system tray. Right click it to bring up a context menu that will let you switch between keyboard layouts, open the Settings menu, access the Gestures menu, and more. While OS-Keyboard is running, you will also notice a small flag icon in the upper left hand corner. By default, OS-Keyboard puts an icon in the upper left hand corner when it’s hidden. Click this icon to bring up the virtual keyboard.

OS-Keyboard is free software. Cons:
None that I could think of.

Pros

It is quite easy to install OS-Keyboard on a Windows PC. Easily bring up the virtual keyboard by clicking the icon from the upper left hand corner on the desktop (that’s the default location; you can change it from the Settings menu). Several keyboard layouts are available. Gestures are supported. OS-Keyboard is free software (donations are welcome).

Cons

ider making a donation if you find it useful. OS-Keyboard puts a virtual keyboard at your disposal. One that features layouts, supports gestures, has an AutoComplete function, and more.
